National Poetry Month Layout

In celebration of National Poetry Month I created this layout for my DT over at Let's Get Peachy.
When I was a child, my father read poetry to me as bedtime stories. I grew up loving Robert Frost. So when Peachy Laura asked me to do something for Poetry Month I immediately thought forThe Road Not Taken.
SUPPLIES:
Key from Michaels
A Coffee Collar- for the road
Maya Road Chipboard letters- covered with Viva Decor Pearl Pens
The paper and twill are from my stash.
The word strip- Incredible is from Maya Road
Helmar 450 used to attach the coffee collar and letters
Scotch ATG for the paper and photos.

HAPPY PASSOVER- Masking challenge layout

This month on Let's Get Peachy Blog the monthly challenge was to using a masking technique. I decided to combine the challenge with photos from last year's Passover Sedar.

Step 1: I used plain white cardstock and placed a Maya Road mask over it. I sprayed the paper with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists in Party Pink and Patina.

Step 2: The chipboard letters are out of my stash. They are from all kind of manufacturers, I thought it looked cute mixing it up a little. I sprayed them with the same Glimmer Mist colors. I added Smooch Shimmer spray in Vanilla over the Patina letters.

Step 3: I used my Scotch ATG to attach the photos and Helmar 450 glue to attach the letters.

Altered Treasure Box

This was a fun project. I altered this CTMH Recipe/Photo Box. I made this into a wonderful treasure box for my dear friend Melissa. It was for a Secret Sister Swap.

I used all kinds of great projects on this fun project.
Smooch Spritz- Vanilla Shimmer
Helmar- 450 & Quick-Fix Adhesive Runner
Viva Decor- Perfect Pearls- Yellow, Light Blue
Tim Holtz- Distress Pads- Broken China
Maya Road- Felt Flowers, Chipboard Swirl, Chipboard Frame, Stick Pin
Prima Flowers
Nikki Sivvils- Cute as A Button!- Burlap Buttons
Hand-colored Skittle
K& Company- Felt Ribbon
K and Company- Marcella- Alpha Deck
Making Memories- Chloe's Closet

Step 1- I measured and cut the paper to cover the sides and the top. I used Helmar 450 glue. I inked all the edges with the Broken China Distress Ink pad.

Step 2- I inked the oval frame with the Broken China Ink pad and sprayed it with the Smooch Spray. I cut out the little bird from the paper and sprayed it with the Smooch Spray. I covered the Maya Road swirl with the Light Blue Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

Step 3- Once all the pieces were dry I used the Helmar 450 glue to attach the chipboard pieces to the front and top of the box. I used pop dots to attach the little bird. Once attached I used the Yellow Pearl Pen to accent the beak. I slipped the stick pin through under the little chipboard frame and into one of the pop dots under the bird. I used Helmar 450 to attach the Felt flower below the bird. It would have been easier if I had the Helmar Scrap Dots, but I ran out of them. I had to hold the flower in place for about a minute and use a little more glue then usual, but it still worked great!

Step 4- I cut off the edge of the card and then used pop dots to attach it. The small blue pearls on each corner were made using Light Blue Viva Decor Pearl Pens.

Step 5- I used the Helmar 450 under the buttons to make sure they stay put. I also used Helmar 450 to attach the felt ribbon at the bottom of the front of the box, and the Prima flowers to the bottom right. I used Helmar 450 to attach the skittle in the middle of the flowers.

Ice Cream Layouts

Recently several of us drove to South Carolina for a weekend crop. It was a blast!!
It was a 6 hours drive. As we were driving up I-95 there was a big billboard for Dairy Queen! Melissa and I looked at each other and said-- You thinking what I'm thinking?? YES!!!
ICE CREAM!!!!
So I whipped the car off the next exit and we stopped at this little tiny hole in the wall DQ.

Melissa proceeds to order a HUGE CONE!!
**WARNING--ICE CREAM CONES ARE LARGER IN PERSON THEN ON THE SIGN!!!**

I used:
Bazzill Solid Cardstock

American Crafts- Backyard Stack- Ice Cream and cut strips from another sheet for the Red and Green edges strips

Helmar 450 to attach letters

Helmar Permanent Adhesive Runner for papers and photos

Viva Decor Glass Effects- Crystal to make the letters look like enamels

Thanksgiving 2006

This is a simple Thanksgiving layout.
The adorable little pilgrims are from Walmart. The green strip on the left is adhesive paper ribbon by K & Company. The paper is from my stash.

On Thanksgiving afternoon Meema and Wesley made a reusable Advent Calendar from a cookie sheet. They used the Cricut and to cut all the little date pieces.

St. Augustine Lighthouse Layouts

These layouts are nice. I love the way black and white layouts look. They are very simple. Just mat some photos on white and put them on a black background. The year and the title were cut with the Cricut using Ashlyn's Alphabet and the Gypsy.

Bird Layouts

These are layouts of the birds that we saw in St. Augustine in the Alligator Farm.

I like the way these layouts came out. I cut the large blue circle with the Cricut using the George cartridge. I cut the circle at 10 1/2 inches. I cut the circle in half. Then I used the outside, remaining piece of 12x12 paper to make the 3rd layout. All the dots are Viva Decor Pearl Pens- Gold.
