LESSology DT Application Project

I found the request for LESSology DT members on the Scrapbook Call Blog. I checked it out and decided I would give it a try!
I love making all kinds of repurposed projects.
So this is the project I put together. It is a canvas that I found at the Goodwill. I covered it with the Alice In Wonderland Halloween paper. Then I took an old costume and cut it up and made the fabric flowers that are along the edge. The centers of the flowers are old buttons cut off a dress. This project is a total Upcycle!!
The title I got from the Alice in Wonderland story. When Alice is at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, the Dormouse recites...

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Bat,
How I wonder what you're at:
Up above the world you fly
Like a tea tray in the sky,
Up above the world you fly
Like at tea tray in the sky.

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Bat,
How I wonder what you're at:
Up above the world you fly
Like a tea tray in the sky.

Use 3-5 pieces, put them together. Use a needle and thread and sew a button in the center. This will also help hold the flower together. These buttons are ones from an old dress!

To get the pieces of thin material to look all wrinkly, you melt it over a candle. Be very careful it doesn't catch on fire. It is very easy to make these flowers!

I cut up a skirt from an old Halloween costume. I cut it into squares and then a circle, then to look like little flowers. You don't have to be perfect because you can make them look like you want when you do the next step, with the melting.

***HAD TO COME BACK AND LET EVERYONE KNOW I WON FOR THIS CONTEST!! SO COOL!!***

This is a layout I did for the Paper Patch Crafts Facebook July Sketch contest.

The photo is of Wesley. We had walked past this statue of Goofy probably 100 times and he never wants to sit and have his photo taken. One day he just decided...Hey mom--let's get my picture here. He and I used to go several times a month to Disney World because we had yearly passes. This is something I hope he will remember when he grows up, because this was some very special times with just him and me.

Getting back into life

Well, it has been a long time since I have been here to share anything. My life has not been worth sharing over the past few months. As some of you know and the rest will now, I am in the process of getting a divorce after 20 years of marriage. It has been a long couple of months and this hasn't been easy for me. Just when I thought things were going to turn around, he asked for a divorce.

BUT...I am trying to take back my life now. I want to thank Laura at Let's Get Peachy blog. She and her blog have started me back on the road to getting crafty. My love for all things crafty left me for several months. Laura has asked me to help her with the blog. I have accepted and I am excited about being able to be useful again. The blog is getting a face-lift and there are some changes over there!! These changes won't actually take place until July 30th, but I just wanted to share because I am excited with what we are working on. So, if you are not already a follower over there, click on the big orange button on the right and become a follower!

This week is CHA and unfortunately I am unable to attend, but I hope to get to go back in the future. I have decided I am going to try my hand at being a traveling scrapbooking store. I will be going around to local crops. So, if anyone hears of a crop in Florida they think I should attend, please drop me a note and let me know!!

I want to thank all my friends that have stuck by me through this nightmare. I appreciate all of you greatly. I have found out who my real friends are and I am proud to say they are my friends!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. For some of you it will end in a few weeks, others still have a whole month! Get out there and enjoy what you have left!!
