Music Is Life Blog Hop

We sang our ABC's as children loud and off key!

We rocked out in our bedrooms with our friends to our favorite tunes.

Everyone has a song that when it plays sparks a memory. Sometimes that a good memory and some times not. 

Music is such an inspiration to me. I play it when I am cleaning, driving, hanging out with friends and especially when I am crafting. So, it should come as no surprise that I enjoy using titles and lines from songs that I love to make layouts for photos that also spark memories. 

Today I am sharing two layouts that I did. One of them inspired by a title of a song and one by a line from a song.

Today I am sharing with you a layout of my son and his dog. When my daughter moved out she was unable to take her dog with her. This happened at the time of my youngest son's birthday. She asked if she could give him the dog as a birthday gift. Marie became his dog. It was very cute to see a skull and crossbones kind of guy all pink and girlie with Marie.

AND NOW ONTO MY PROJECT:

For the first time in 24 years I do not have a child going back to school this year. My youngest child got his GED last month. My next school experiences will be several years down the road since my grandson and granddaughter were both born just this summer. So, I was not going to originally participate in this blog hop. But then I remembered that I do have someone going "back to school". My son's partner is working on an art degree. So I started searching for something to make that would benefit an art student. Several years ago I found some pencil holders in an art store. I purchased one. It was rather expensive. I looked at it and thought I could figure out how to make my own. This is what I came up with.







I plan on making more of these as my foster daughters have all fallen in love with these too. I can see that I am going to have to break the sewing machine back out and get busy.

I hope you like my little pencil rolls. Maybe they will inspire you to get out there and GET CRAFTY!!

New Grandson and his Diaper Bag and New Design Team

This past week I was blessed with a new Grandson!! Check out this cutie!!





I thought it would be fun to get crafty and get out my sewing machine and make him and his mommy and daddy an adorable Batman Diaper Bag! Check it out. It is so cute.

Cow Appreciation Day

Today we went on a fun family outing! Kat found the Cow Day at Chik-fil-a. So of course Nana jumped right in. I got out the markers and paper. We found old shirts and even a onsie for Lili!! Had a blast!!

Update On Our Wonderful Crazy Family!

Things have been so busy around our house lately. There are so many great things going on for us right now!!

Over the past several years our home has been open to helping some of the friends of my children. They have come from unsafe or unhappy homes or have just needed someone to give them a loving home to stay in until they got on their feet.

One of the wonderful young men we have taken in, Austin, graduated from high school recently. It has been a long road and we are very proud of him!



We also took in two wonderful young ladies. They are both pregnant now. One is due any day and the other is due middle of July. One is having a girl and the other a boy! I am very excited. I am going to be a Nana soon! 

These are my girls!!

Bekka is going to have a girl....Arkadia! Our little sweet girl is set to arrive any day. Bekka has been in pre-labor for several days now. Wednesday is her next doctor's visit. We are hoping they will induce so we can get things moving!


My other sweet girl..Kat.. is having a little boy. Kat and her fiance Seth are living with us right now. Their little man is going to be named Lincoln. We are going to call him Link....after the Legend of Zelda.  We did a fun photo shoot last week at one of the pretty local parks. Ron is such a great photographer.





I am so excited to be a Nana soon!!

And finally my wonderful son Wesley is working on getting his GED. He has had a rough 18 months, but he has met a great girl (Randi) and he's getting himself together. I am so proud of him!! He only has 1 more test to take and he will have his GED!

TO THE BAT CAVE ROBIN!!!
UP UP and AWAY!

I have two foster daughters that I took in about 18 months ago. I took them in because they needed a safe loving home. Both of them are now pregnant. These are my first grandbabies!! I am so excited. The first one is due any day. As I am typing this my girl is timing her contractions. So I might be a Nana by the time you get done hopping!!
The second little guy is due in the middle of July. His mommy and daddy are both DC Comic, Batman fans. I hosted the baby shower in May. It was Batman themed. 



 I used my Cameo and found some Batman outlines. It was fun because I figured out how to trace with the software. This was a first for me.



One of the games we played was How big is Lincoln's Bat Cave. LOL!! 


 I decorated the back porch as will with lots of Batman symbols. 


I also made a stencil and got a crib. I sanded it and painted it black and added the Batman logo to the headboard and footboard!


We can not wait for our little man to join us and start using his Batman crib.
